Inside the unique premises of Cretaquarium, the first TEDx Heraklion sought to present creative voices and stories of proactive people. Its main theme was Crossroads, as it was inspired by the nature and character of Crete – a crossroad of cultures, due to its geographical location. To cite the TEDx team: “Crossroads are an intersection in time and space. Crossroads are also about choices. In the heart of the Mediterranean, lying on top of two tectonic plates and three continents. A historical crossroad of cultures, where words turn into tunes and flavors. Eyes are looking at the stars to find their path. Ideas that meet other ideas, bodies and souls that get together to make something bigger and stronger. Make a stop at the crossroad and listen. All coordinates lead to a common point ‘X’”.
TEDxAUEB, the first University TEDx in Greece, was held for the second year to help explore new paths leading to original ideas. The dynamic team of the Athens University of Economics and Business planned a day of inspiration, motivation, knowledge, and networking for the youth. Participants attended 18 talks on good practices by speakers from different industries, who shared goals, devotion, persistence and passion for their respective fields.
There are people and businesses that managed to grow despite unprecedented hardships, in a rapidly and still wildly changing environment. They are people with determination, creativity, initiative, leadership, and risk. Businesses that flourished despite external conditions, and succeeded by addressing all hardships with courage. WIND supports this new generation of Greeks; those who mature with hardships, struggle to succeed, and review values and life goals – real “Time Voyagers” ascending the stage of TEDx University of Piraeus.
Where do things end and when do they start? How can an end become a source of inspiration and how can a beginning mark an end? Where do we start from and how many times can one make a new beginning in their lives or put an end?
TEDxThessaloniki tried to answer these questions through the stories of its speakers, all inspired by the words of T.S. Eliot: “What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.”
Amid a transitional period, TEDxMonemvasia invited each one of us to reclaim our identity. “Reclaim your Identity” was the main message of this TEDx, sharing the ideas of people who dared to create and make change happen. Active citizens, authors, entrepreneurs, and researchers left their marks in an effort to communicate creative practices, by generously offering opportunities for development and a new lifestyle.
