The power of +syn
Saturday 13 April 2013
“The power of +syn” being its focal point, the 4th TEDx Thessaloniki event was held on Saturday 13 April in Olympion, at the heart of Thessaloniki, sponsored by WIND.
The 4th TEDx Thessaloniki event was a whole day of inspiration, entertainment, knowledge and networking both for speakers and audience, driven by the need to promote concepts, elements and activities marked by a positive sign, thinking and action.
The speakers –personalities from the areas of education, volunteerism, entrepreneurship, arts, activism and technology– shared their ideas on how the power of “syn” can be put into practice. One of them was Giorgos Kosta, Vice-Rector at the Democritus University of Thrace and lecturer in the School of Physical Education and Sports Science, who spoke about his participation in four Marathon races in Greece, joining WIND Running Team for a good cause. During his speech entitled “Going Beyond Limits” he said that: “Wearing your shoes and go running while children, family, professional and personal responsibilities are ‘running’ around you, is the greatest challenge; and then growing up, and still running, and finishing after 42,195 meters, and then starting all over again”.
