ZTE Router Software Upgrade
Software upgrade instructions (firmware) for router ZTE H108L
It is recommended that you always have the most up-to-date firmware version of your router. Please follow the steps below to upgrade the firmware in your wireless router (Please note: This applies only to ΖΤΕ Η108L)
Step 1: Download the latest firmware version in zipped form (.zip):
a) pressing here in case you have a single telephone line (PSTN/Annex A) or
b) pressing here in case you have an ISDN telephone line (Annex B)
and save it on your computer
Step 2: Unzip the firmware, using the necessary software (e.g. Winzip, Winrar etc). Save the file in its normal form (.bin)
Step 3: Turn on your router and connect it to your computer via Ethernet cable (different from the normal telephone cable).
Please note: Avoid upgrading your firmware wirelessly
Step 4: Run any browser –Internet Explorer recommended- and type the following in the address bar: http://192.168.1.254/
Step 5: Type in your Username and Password in the corresponding fields, to gain access to router settings. The manufacturer Username is ‘admin’ and the Password is ‘admin’
Type in the necessary details and press 'Login'
Please note: The Username and Password asked IS NOT the same with the login details of your internet connection, e-mail, etc.
Step 6 (optional): In case you have changed your router's settings (e.g. the wireless network access password) and you wish to keep them after upgrading, you must create a back up. For this purpose, choose ‘Administration’ from the upper menu, and then on the left menu choose ‘System Management’ and then ‘User Configuration Management’. Pressing on the ‘Backup Configuration’, a file named ‘windrouter’ is created and stored.
Step 7: On the upper menu, choose ‘Administration’ and then on the left menu choose ‘System Management’ and then ‘Software Upgrade’
Step 8: Press ‘Browse’ or ‘Choose File’, choose the firmware you downloaded (unzipped) and press ‘Upgrade’
Please note: The file extension must be .bin and not .zip
Step 9: You will see the message ‘Software upgrading in progress, please DO NOT turn off the power and wait a moment’. Wait 1-2 minutes for the upgrade to finish.
Please note: During the upgrade, make sure that you do not lose power, otherwise the router might be severely damaged
Step 10: The router's light indicators blink for a few seconds. Please wait until the ‘DSL’ and ‘Internet’ indicators are stable and glow green
Step 11: In order for the upgrade to be completed, refresh the page, fill in the same details as in Step 5, choose ‘Administration’ on the upper menu and then on the left menu choose ‘System Management’ and then press ‘Restore Default’. When asked to confirm, press ‘ΟΚ’
Step 12: Installation is complete. There is a bar showing the progress of the installation, and then the machine reboots. For a few seconds, the router's light indicators blink. Please wait until the ‘DSL’ and ‘Internet’ indicators are stable and glow green
Your router's firmware has been updated!
Step 13 (optional): If you create a security back up (Step 6), and you wish to restore your settings, choose ‘Administration’ and then on the left menu choose ‘System Management’ and then ‘User Configuration Management’. Press ‘Choose File’, choose the file ‘windrouter.bin’ from the location in which you saved it during Step 6 and then press ‘Restore Configuration’
Wait a few seconds. When the settings have been restored, you will see the message ‘The operation completed successfully’ and the router reboots once more. For a few seconds, the router's light indicators blink. Please wait until the ‘DSL’ and ‘Internet’ indicators are stable and glow green
